Graduated in Spanish Philology and Comparative Literature from the University of Amsterdam. Translator of Spanish and Catalan literature (Pérez Galdós, Narcís Oller, Pío Baroja, Josep M. de Sagarra, Miquel de Palol, Quim Monzó, Alvaro Pombo, Francisco Casavella, Andrés Ibáñez).
Founded in 1997 the Dutch Department in the Escola Oficial d'Idiomes Barcelona-Drassanes. Lives in Bescanó (Girona) with his wife Rosa and their twins Anna and Mia.
